# The Lifecycle of a Meme

This article provides a quick and simple overview of what happens to a meme on the Burning Meme platform, from creation to trading.

#### Step 1: Meme Creation

* **AI Tools:** Use our AI tools to create a meme.
* **Submission Fee:** Pay a small 200 $Guru fee to submit.
* **Choose a Path:** Select either the Voting Path or the Direct Launch Path.

#### Step 2a: Community Boost (if chosen)

* The community votes for 1 hour, if the boost path is chosen.
* Users lock $Guru to either to support a meme.
* **Fair System:** A fair voting system prevents manipulation.
* **Outcome:** Meme launches on a bonding curve. Collected $Guru tokens are used to make a first purchase on bonding curve and gets distributed to author and boosters.

#### Step 2b: (Direct Launch)

* **Initial Purchase:** Directly launch the meme by purchasing by creator at least 100 $Guru of the new memecoin on the bonding curve.
* **Start Bonding Curve:** The bonding curve will immediately be activated for the meme.
* **No Airdrop:** Launching through direct path will not make users eligible for airdrops.

#### Step 4: Bonding Curve Trading

* **Open Trading:** Anyone can buy and sell memecoins on the bonding curve.
* **Price Discovery:** The bonding curve determines price based on trading activity.

#### Step 5: DEX Listing

* **Market Cap Goal:** When the memecoin reaches $60,000 market cap, it will be listed on a decentralized exchange (DEX).
* **Open Market:** Trading shifts from the bonding curve to the DEX.
